THANK YOU!

Hello, Douglas Sutter here and today I am sharing some of my "school of hard knocks" online marketing experiences. A lot of folks just starting online marketing need this information. If you are an old pro, you may still pick up a pointer.

Do yourself a favor and read the entire article BEFORE taking ANY action.

Beginning of lesson: Guidelines for using blasters/safelists.

Today, to send emails without spamming, you either need to use blasters/safelists, your own personal, double opt-in list, or bulk mailers in compliance with the new anti-spam laws. This lesson discusses the use of blasters/safelists. Specifically I will explain how to use TheMarketingKit's blaster. This blaster sends your email to about 6.5 million people. TheMarketingKit memberships are a freebee on this web site. If you would like a free membership (normal cost $29.95) visit the Our Compiments! page.

Even if you do not use this blaster, the following guidelines will prove pretty much generic to similar applications.

Once you become a member, log in.

Next, select 190 Million Ad Blasting.

A new window opens: Blast to 6,500,000 Prospects Daily

Look for a yellow box with blue writing: Access Online Blaster

Select it.

A new window opens: Marketing Kit Online Blaster...

Enter your User Name and Password as before and click log in.

This brings you to: Welcome To Your Personal Online Blaster Control Panel

Select: Edit Profile

Fill in the blanks - Your subscription/list email address is the one that you agree for 6.5 million folks (in this case) to write to you. So... DO NOT use your personal everyday email address, or any of these BANNED addresses:

And I'm sure by now, more have been added to this list.

If you haven't already got yourself a subscription/list address, when you are finished reading this, get one. It only takes about 5 minutes. Just do a search on Google for free email addresses. Might as well get two different ones. One each from two different organizations. I'll explain in a moment. Make sure that this account self cleans itself, (unless you have the time to do so), or is a very large account. Blasters/safelists frown on bouncing emails and will suspend your account or put you on vacation until you clean your inbox. You could quite easily receive thousands of messages. So choose your subscription/list address with care. Two I can recommend are Moomia.com and coolgoose.com.

Now that you have two acceptable email addresses the next step is to enter your contact email address.

The contact email address is where you receive messages from the admin only for their use in contacting you. Many tend, however, (how should I say this), to abuse this privilege, which is close to spamming YOU LEGALLY. So, a word to the wise, if you don't want them coming to you in your everyday, personal email inbox, then use one of the free ones that you just created. Your contact email address doesn't have to be a large account. Gawab.com is a good one to use for contact. WARNING: Using your personal email address as a contact address will result in you legally receiving thousands of messages in your inbox.

I like to use different companies for ease of remembering what is my contact and what is my subscription/list address, but that's your call. Remember, Hotmail, Yahoo and AOL are all banned addresses from most blasters/safelists due to their filtering systems.

OK, back to TheMarketingKit blaster.

After you enter your contact address, then click update.

Log in again.

Select: Send Ad

Read: Please fill in all fields below (explains name codes).

Then enter a name code (or not) in your subject line (Most blasters/safelists offer personal name codes.) People like to see their name, but it's your call.

Fill in the rest of your subject, ie.: (name code), how to save money on long distance.

Don't say for instance: (name code), AT&T offers a personal long distance plan.

Who cares? Don't they all? (Remember, this was just an example, I don't know what AT&T is doing.) The point being is you want to create curiosity. Your goal is to want that person, who you've never met, to at least open your email.

For the most part, use lower case letters in your subject line. Subjects like: L@@K ---> AT&T OFFERS A PERSONAL LONG DISTANCE PLAN//// scream spam and will probably be deleted immediately by your prospect, if not automatically by a filter.

Always try to use at least one of these 16 sets of words that stimulate/give power to your subject line. (Notice in my example I easily used three sets.)

(how to) (save) (money) on long distance.

Next it's time to enter the text in the body. A word to the wise. Many blasters/safelists time out without warning you! This includes The Subber automatic safelist mailer. I made the mistake one day of typing in a message. When I clicked "save" a screen appeared wanting me to log in again. Obviously, my session had expired, and my message was lost. I wasted my valuable time. To prevent this, here's what I recommend you do.

PASTE the text of a previously created message in the body area. Also I recommend you use their name codes, in strategic spots throughout your message, to better personalize it. Use a notepad or word pad to prepare your message text before hand. Use this time saver.

012345678901234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789

Copy and paste it on your notepad to aid in message text width. (Remember to erase it before you send your message.) It is exactly 60 characters long, a majic email size.

Then once you are happy with your text, copy, paste, and click send. You're done. Your message has just been sent.

OK, this first one took forever, but just think about how fast the rest will be!

Blasters/safelists do all that legal beagle stuff for you so you can concentrate on your pitch. Some blasters/safelists you can use once a day, others vary. The new anti-spam laws require you to include your name, complete mailing address, (P.O. boxes are legal), usually a disclaimer, and a way to unsubscribe (I think that pretty much covers all the bases), but who knows??? It's a pain in the you know what, and as I don't spam, I am not concerned. Here's an example:

This is a commercial solicitation.

Barney Rubble, GenerationX-Solutions, Inc., 1809 South Broadway, Suite P, Minot, ND 58701

If you would like to stop receiving our mailings, please click: Here

I'd never even heard of this outfit! Yet, one day, their message was in my inbox. Could I cry "You spammed me!" Perhaps. They got my email address from somewhere but, as you can see, they covered all the bases and were just trying to do business.

One of your biggest problems with blasters/safelists is setting up the two email addresses that will be accepted by them, but once you are accepted and know 100% which is which, then it's easy to enter your subscription/list and your contact addresses in any blaster/safelist you join. You will, however, have to verify your email addresses before they permit you to send a message. They usually quickly send an email to your address and you simply click-on the verification link. It's easy.

One last item: A word to the wise. Always include a P.S. in your message that briefly describes your offer and a URL, or an auto responder email address for your prospect to click-on. Many times folks are in a hurry and only read the first sentence or paragraph and then skip all the way to the bottom.

End of Lesson.

Please recommend this web site to anyone that you feel would benefit.

To your continued success,

Douglas Sutter
